Best School Management Software in Nigeria (2026): Compared by Price and Features

Choosing school management software in Nigeria comes down to three things: what it really costs per term, whether it handles your results and fees the way your school actually runs them, and what support you get after you pay. This guide compares nine options side by side. We build one of them, SaidByte School ERP, so we say plainly where it fits and where another tool may suit you better.

Competitor details below come from publicly reported pricing and feature information as of August 2026. We have not tested those products ourselves, and prices change often, so confirm current figures on each provider's website before you decide.

How to read these prices

Nigerian school software is priced in at least five different ways: a free tier with paid add-ons, a flat termly fee, termly bands by student count, a per-student charge, and a custom quote. They are not directly comparable until you add up what your school would really pay.

Here is an illustration for a school with about 300 students, using only the advertised figures above. It leaves out setup, SMS, payment fees and any modules sold separately, so treat it as a starting point rather than a quote.

SoftwarePlan that fits 300 studentsAdvertised termly cost
SchoolKitGrowth (up to 600 students)About ₦90,000
AkadaGrowth (101 to 300 students)About ₦115,000 plus setup
SchoolOSMain packageAbout ₦180,000
EdunileGrowth (up to 500 students)₦275,000
FlexiSAF SAFSIMSStarter at the entry rateAbout ₦300,000 before any volume reduction

The cheapest sticker price is not always the cheapest outcome. A low plan that charges separately for SMS, result generation and onboarding can end up costing more than a higher flat fee that includes them. Ask every vendor for the full termly cost at your exact student count.

Which one suits which school

If your priority is the lowest software cost, look first at the free and free-tier options: Nersapp, SchoolKit, SchoolViewers and SAFSIMS all advertise free entry points, each with limits on students, modules or paid services. Read the limits before you rely on them.

If your parents live on WhatsApp, Akada and Edunile are built around WhatsApp notifications and fee reminders, which can matter more than a long feature list if getting parents to use another app has been a struggle.

If you want one system to cover broader administration such as CBT, payroll and staff attendance, SchoolViewers, SAFSIMS and Edves go furthest on advertised modules. SchoolOS also covers many standard modules at a flat price.

If you run a large school or several campuses, or you want curriculum and exam-preparation tools tied into the same platform, Edves and the higher SAFSIMS tiers are aimed at that, and you should expect a quote and a longer onboarding.

If connectivity at your school is unreliable, SchoolKit advertises offline-friendly operation. Whichever tool you consider, ask exactly which features keep working without internet and how data syncs afterwards.

Where SaidByte School ERP fits

SaidByte School ERP is a ready-made, subscription platform for Nigerian schools. You register at erp.saidbyte.com.ng, set up your school and start the same day, with no custom build project. It covers admissions and student records, attendance and gradebook, fees and payments tracking per student per term, staff HR and payroll, transport management, ID cards and certificates with QR codes, and an Android app for staff and parents.

Two things set it apart. First, role-based portals give school admins, teachers, students and parents separate dashboards, so each group sees only what applies to them. Second, it is multi-tenant: every school gets its own isolated space and branding, which suits school groups that want each branch kept separate.

It may not be the best fit if you want a free-only plan, or if a WhatsApp-first parent experience is your top requirement, since other tools above lean harder that way. Pricing depends on your school's size and the modules you need, so we quote per school. If your school needs something no off-the-shelf product covers, we also build custom school systems.

A checklist before you pay anyone

  • What is the full termly cost for our exact number of students, including setup, training and data migration?
  • Are SMS, WhatsApp messages, result generation and online payment charges included or billed separately?
  • Can our existing Excel records be imported, and who does the migration?
  • Can we set up our own grading scheme and report-card layout?
  • How are fees recorded and reconciled against each student's account?
  • What can parents and students see, and can teachers see only their own classes?
  • Can we export all our school data if we leave?
  • How are backups handled, and how quickly does support respond when something breaks?
  • Is there a trial, pilot or live demo with real data before we commit?

Test with real data before you commit

Whatever you shortlist, do not decide from a feature list alone. Ask for a demo or trial, then enter one real class: record continuous assessment and exam scores, generate a report card, log a part-payment of fees, and log in as a parent. Ten minutes of that tells you more than any comparison table, including this one.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best school management software in Nigeria?

There is no single best option for every school. Small schools often start with a free or low-cost plan, schools that rely on WhatsApp may prefer a WhatsApp-first tool, and larger or multi-campus schools usually need payroll, role-based access and stronger support. Compare the full termly cost at your student count and test with real data before choosing.

Is there free school management software in Nigeria?

Several providers advertise free entry plans or free tiers, usually with limits on student numbers, modules or paid services such as result generation or SMS. Check what the free plan excludes before relying on it.

How much does school management software cost in Nigeria?

Advertised prices range from free tiers to several hundred thousand naira per term for larger schools or fuller packages. The total depends on student count, setup, training and any add-ons, so ask each vendor for the complete termly cost.

Can parents pay school fees online with school management software?

Many Nigerian platforms track fees and some connect to payment gateways such as Paystack. Ask whether payments are reconciled automatically against each student's account and whether transaction charges apply.

Does SaidByte School ERP support more than one campus?

SaidByte School ERP is multi-tenant, so each school or branch gets its own private, isolated space with its own students, staff and data. This suits school groups that want each branch kept separate.
